New@Sweco

Sweco, the largest architecture and engineering consultancy in Europe, employs 2,000 people across 10 locations in the Netherlands. The company strives to be the most attractive employer and the first choice for talented newcomers. To achieve this, Sweco organized a special onboarding event for all new employees. In collaboration with D&B Eventmarketing, the concept “new@Sweco” was developed, ensuring that both format and content were seamlessly aligned.

Warm Welcome at Sweco

The event was entirely focused on connecting Sweco’s new consultants—from experiencing the company culture to discovering projects, meeting management, and building relationships with one another.

The program was energetic and inspiring, perfectly matching Sweco’s character. At its core were the Sweco way of working and key values such as engagement, accessibility, and recognized expertise.

City of the Future

The vibrant program and dynamic atmosphere made Eindhoven the perfect location for the event. Known for its innovation and forward-thinking developments, the city embodies the essence of Sweco’s work—shaping and developing the cities and communities of the future. Upon arrival, participants embarked on a bike tour through Eindhoven, concluding at Radio Royaal. After the plenary session, everyone moved to the Kazerne, where various workshops took place. During these sessions, they gained deeper insights into Sweco’s projects and got to know each other better through collaboration.

Sweco Ambassadors

In the evening, it was time to unwind with drinks and dinner at a cozy location in Eindhoven, followed by plenty of dancing. The second day focused on workshops and a team-building activity. After 28 hours, participants were tired but highly satisfied, having gained a unique Sweco experience. New@Sweco proved to be a successful event aimed at creating new Sweco ambassadors. As the icing on the cake, Sweco rated D&B Eventmarketing a 9.5 for both the creative concept and execution of the event. The successful onboarding program has now been held 11 times, with over 1,200 employees having gone through the Sweco experience.
