Every year, municipalities, care providers, childcare professionals, educators, parents, and youth come together at the Westergas terrain for Voor de Jeugd Dag. This time, that wasn’t possible, so we brought Westergas straight to your living room. Fully interactive, with six simultaneous livestreams, forty online workshops, and thirty digital stands at the youth plaza.
As soon as visitors entered, it felt familiar. Not much different from previous editions. Moving between sessions was easy, the youth plaza was filled with stands, and there was plenty of space to ask questions—both to speakers and to each other.
In other words, it felt like any other event. And that’s exactly what made it so special. Never before had a hybrid event come this close to the physical event experience we all know. Curious to see how it looked? Check it out below!
As soon as visitors have to choose between multiple sessions happening simultaneously, providing a clear overview becomes even more important. You want attendees to focus on the speaker without worrying about when the next session starts. In addition to a carefully curated program, we developed two new features to enhance the experience.
This way, you can engage a much larger audience and allow more people to watch and participate. That’s incredibly exciting—also for next year.
Visitors were able to explore the event site digitally for the first time using an intuitive map, making it easy to switch between different livestreams. They could also create a personalized schedule with the new time-block system, where the platform automatically sent a reminder ten minutes before each selected session started. These features allowed attendees to fully focus on the speakers without worrying about missing anything.
Through our own event platform, reply.live, participants could react live, chat, submit photos, or applaud. Online games were also played, and the app served as an interactive event guide. Each user received a unique link, keeping everything in one place—clear and organized.
